THE BRIEF

On the hottest day of the year last July, Music Week hosted its first brands conference – a sell-out event which drew delegates from the UK, US and continental Europe, who gathered for a day of networking, negotiating and learning. On July 18 2007, MusicMeetsBrands took MW’s conference to the next level, delivering an event which promises to be bigger, bolder and better. But before this event could happen a need for a bigger, bolder and better brand identity which reflected it's professional attitude and standing within the industry was needed!

When branding for any event or conference it is necessary to approach the brief from a unique angle. The client isn't just the attendee or delegate but also, the sponsors, the guest speaker and associate companies - a varied target audience expecting different results. It is our role as the creative force behind the brand to appease all parties in order to make the event a true success. With our extensive experience in event design and branding we set about developing a solution that would work on every level from business cards to large format presentation screens. Avoiding all visual cliches for music we worked on the unique element of this event - branding. The barcode is recognised worldwide as a method of branding in today's consumer society. By developing the barcode visually and utiliing a style of typeface which offered high visibility and communicated confidence we created a brand identity that had impeccable legibility at all sizes and had the professional aptitude that was required for the event.
